Empathy At Work
Work is hard ya’ll. Life in general… probably even harder when you stop and think about it.
Regardless of where you fall on the issues themselves, I think we can all agree that change itself is challenging for any organization and likely your team as well. As our work lives continue to get more complex, it is critical to give yourself, and your team, as much grace as possible along the journey.
Scratching The Engineering Itch
I think one thing that connects all engineers is, at our core, we are builders. We simply love to make things and put them out in the world in some form or another. As you grow in your career, it’s so easy to drift out of touch with that passion and become jaded with a field that you once loved.
Why Is Reaching Scale So Hard?
Reaching scale for a technology company is a right of passage and can be a really exciting journey to be a part of. But why is it so hard? And why, on closer inspection, do so many companies fail to truly reach it, even well after their ‘startup years’. The reality is often simpler than one may think and normally has much less to do with the actual technology than many believe.
